Chris Gautschi is a Swiss graphic designer who graduated from École d’Arts Appliqués de la Chaux-de-Fonds (CH). His work focuses on the unexpected. Addressing symbolism and dual meaning, he strives to combine opposites and balance contrasts. Using dialectics to address the permanent tension between these fundamental issues, he does not hesitate to juxtapose and distort images in order to place the initial idea back into its original context. By projecting himself beyond the mere result, he invites viewers to unleash their own imagination. Based in Lausanne, he mainly publishes high quality books for different institutions, museums and individual clients for whom he creates different communication tools. Passionate about geometry and architecture, his conceptual approach and graphic style have been refined over the years and his theoretical ideas have now been put into practice.
